Seed Thoughts: Idea varieties: Bawdy Farm
Time on land, intentionally, immersively....Metal Time Travel Tools and form fitting cropping...
Q/T/LGBTQIA2+/BIPOC farmer care justice, culturally accessible food.
'Till this Othered Bawdy... growing mutually vibrant and edible justice...
A concept deepening Cole's inquiry into land justice; exploring PJ's tools growing food on the body helping to address systemic food insecurity.
The Queer Black Femme Body is the site of Pirate Jenny's BAWDY FARM - or The BAWDY. A corporal, bodied landscape for food abundance and futurities with crops growing from each tool on my lesbian queer themme form; ideally providing and being harvested by and for local community.

Till This Othered Bawdy... 6/24 (working title)
An image of the cow butcher cuts diagram and it's place in western consumptive consumerism became a visual metaphor connecting countless and similar experiences of my Queer, Black, Themme form at so many systemic intersections - althewhile my body feeling like the very diagram of meat marked for prime consumption.
Conversely, the Cow in many cultures is seen as a deity; respected and held sacred - and similiar to the black femme body; is often violated, historically dissected and widely consumed and disposed of en masse with full knowledge of it's sacred resilience.
The Bawdy Farm reclaims the diagram of the body; reframing the lines of choice cuts as bountiful crops grown on each tool geared towards each part of the body . This work also brings to question the common act of scanning; nodding to the current and prevelant language of QR Code for consumption and cultural access.
While this leans into 'scanning the body", or BAWDY Scans - this iteration of this piece asks " in what futuristic equitable ways can the queer black femme body exist
as a site of dignity within abundance in feeding community?.
During the virtual presentation for EmergeNYC, I posed "What If" - exploring the screen capacity with weight to the virtual frame, the observer and the electronic gaze expanded by possibilities of scanning, connectivity, consumerism and black resilient and feminist foodscapes. The possibilities are endless and an imagined model would have a body part with a QR Code, leading to a tool on the body growing crops like Okra (arm), Kitchen herbs (face), Jute (ears) or Cherry Toms (back).
The BAWDY FARM also re-imagines food access as a model of authentic food futurity residing within the Queer, Black Themme Form and beyond Pirate Jenny.
